Jackson Township Fire Station 204

Mull & Weithman Architects, Inc. was hired by the Jackson Township Trustee’s to assist in the preparation of the design for a new Satellite Station as well as the associated Statement of Probable Cost for Construction.  This information was used in the preparation and ultimately the securing of a Federal Stimulus Grant. (ARRA Assistance to Firefighters – Fire Station Construction Grants)  The new facility, encompassing slightly over 10,000 s.f., with interior spaces including 2 apparatus bays with adjacent ancillary spaces, EMS treatment / triage room, watch room, and living quarters for 7 fire fighters. In addition to a classroom for training and a physical fitness room, many training opportunities were incorporated into the design, at a minimal additional expense.  Exterior features include a 911 Memorial, designed around a piece of steel from the “World Trade Center terrorist attack”, with a time capsule incorporated into its base, a grilling area, covered patio, and a screened whole house generator / electric transformer enclosure, not visible from the street. This project received LEED Gold Certification with the USGBC.
