Mull & Weithman Architects was hired in 2021 to complete the design of a new satellite fire station for the growing communities of Jerome Township, Millcreek Township and Jerome Village. Sited on a 3.5-acre lot near the Township’s only school, the site is situated in an area with much residential and commercial growth.

Fire Station 211 will offer the Department 10,041 square feet of space including 2-1/2 bays for Fire and EMS runs with ancillary spaces for Gear Laundry / SCBA, EMS Storage, a Decon alcove with separate toilet / shower for personal decontamination and a Turnout Gear Room which also serves as the code-required ICC 500-2014 tornado shelter.

The Living Quarters are sized to house up to six firefighters per shift. Key features of the station include a large physical fitness training room, built-in training opportunities, (confined space rescue, ladder work, bailing exercises, etc.) a small meeting room, and a watch room which features windows to the Apparatus Bays and responding apparatus apron. The Station also includes space for local Sheriff’s deputies with a Reports and Interview room directly off the public entry.

In an effort to encourage public interaction with the Fire Department, the Station includes a large entry tower and a wrap around porch that will include seating for the fire fighters as well as the public.
