Mull & Weithman Architects was hired in 2021 to help the City of Wooster realize their goal of renovating and expanding their 1961 main station. Located in the heart of the city, Station No. 1 was in desperate need of modernization and additional space.
To balance between the City’s needs and budget, Mull & Weithman worked with the Department to establish a priority list and assigned a budgetary cost to each item on the Department’s “wish list”. The design transforms the existing 4 apparatus bays into 3, adds a support bay with training tower, provides 10 private dormitory rooms, a physical fitness addition and an administration office addition for department leadership.
