The new Delaware Fire Station 304 was designed as a design-build project with 2K Construction. The station has built upon the prototype established with the Delaware Fire Station 303 by integrating feedback from construction and post-occupancy reviews of the existing station. Like it’s prototype station 303, Station 304 includes two drive-thru apparatus bays with adjacent ancillary support areas as well as living quarters which can house up to 5 firefighters per shift. Key features of the station include a physical fitness training room, a training room, which can also be used by the community, a duty office with a small training room, and a prominently situated watch room which has a window to the vestibule, views of the visitor parking area as well as the responding apparatus apron.
