Washington Township has officially opened its new $9.6 million municipal complex—an important community investment proudly designed by Mull & Weithman Architects. The long-planned project began with extensive site work to prepare the property for the new development, ultimately creating a modern civic campus on a 15-acre site at Vanderbilt Road and State Route 13.
At the center of the complex is a new fire station featuring five apparatus bays, upgraded living quarters, and flexible training space with movable walls. A high-performance exhaust removal system enhances firefighter health and safety, while modern support areas streamline daily operations. The building is also designed to support a future transition to full 24-hour staffing.
The campus includes administrative offices, a public meeting hall, shared fitness space, and an 8,300-square-foot road department building with heated storage, a fabrication shop, and multiple bays.
Funded through a USDA Rural Development loan approved by township voters, the project was celebrated with an open house and pancake breakfast. Thoughtfully designed by Mull & Weithman, the new municipal complex provides Washington Township with a forward-looking and highly functional hub for public safety and community services.
