The additions and renovations to the original 1961 Wooster Station 1 building have been completed. Station No.1 is one of three stations serving the city. Located on a sloped site along Market Street, adjacent to City Hall and within a residential neighborhood near the center of the city. The project included apparatus bay additions and renovations to accommodate modern fire apparatus and training opportunities, renovated sleeping quarters with private dormitory rooms, upgraded building utility services, dedicated gear storage and decontamination spaces, new fire administration office space, a functional fitness area, and kitchen and dayroom renovations.

Mull & Weithman Architects accomplished the design with three separate additions around the core of the original station and a facelift for the Markey Street facade. The construction was completed on time and budget by Adena Construction from Mansfield, Ohio.
